Description
The Belvedere ensemble, former summer residence of Prince Eugene of Savoy, consists of two Baroque palaces (Upper and Lower Belvedere) dating to the beginning of the 18th century and a beautiful garden. The complex features on UNESCO´s World Heritage List and is currently home to the most impressive collection of Austrian Art, including the largest collection of Gustav Klimt´s works.
Upper Belvedere
The Upper Belvedere hosts permanent collections dating as far back as the Middle Ages. The most iconic painting housed is Gustav´s Klimt ´Kiss`.
Lower Belvedere
Lower Belvedere features temporary exhibitions of Austrian artists, showcasing various movements and periods in art.
